Countryside Cottage “The Jasmine House” Close to NC & SC Carolina Beaches | Cabaña en Calabash

The low country cottage, known as The Jasmine House, is located on an estate near the North jCarolina/South Carolina boarder. It is on a spacious partially wooded area adjacent to a lake and trails. This location will provide much peace and tranquility. If you would like to venture into nature there are several trails to explore. The house is surrounded by beautiful flowers throughout the landscaping.
A lake is adjacent to the house, you may fish in the lake if you wish but bring your own poles. Maps of these areas will be provided. This is a natural environment, please be mindful of wildlife, including snakes, mosquitoes and insects. Please, no swimming in the lake…we live in the south and we sometimes have alligators taking a swim.
A cozy firepit has benches for seating and located just behind the cottage. There is firewood available for your use, tips for the timber man that provides the wood can be left in the “tip box” by the firewood. The fire pit is located in an area with pine needs that would easily catch on fire, please keep the fire within the fire ring and a keen eye on your fire
There is a charcoal grill and utensils for your use just outside the sunroom entrance. Charcoal is not provided
The fully equipped kitchen is supplied with utensils for cooking or baking, coffee pot, microwave, dishwasher, stove and refrigerator.
There is washer & dryer, (iron and ironing board if you want to iron on your holiday), free WiFi, smart TV’s, firepit, and picnic table by the lake.
The entire 2nd floor is the spacious master suite with a private bathroom with a granite shower and rain fall shower head, a walk-in closet, gas fireplace, large TV and a balcony covered with a sun shade overlooking lovely flower gardens and front yard. The stairs from the living room to the 2nd floor master suite are equipped with hand rails but may be too steep for some. There are private exterior stairs to the master suite as well. The 1st floor bedroom has a queen Murphy bed, chairs, TV & a variety of reading material available for your reading enjoyment during your stay covering many topics.
The living room has a TV, Queen sofa bed, chairs and a fabulous view. Beautiful wood ceiling and other natural wood highlights enhance the beauty of the room. The first floor bathroom has a tile shower and an exterior door exiting to the back yard and fire pit area.
A bit of country life can be seen from the dining table that accommodates four people. You will have a great view of 12 fluffy hens living their best life in the enclosed chicken run just past another beautiful flower bed (you may hear a cackle or two on occasion). Enjoy watching the girls but please do not enter the chicken coop.
All floors throughout are wood, please remove your shoes to help keep them in good condition. All water in the cottage is purified by reverse osmosis, please use it as needed but with CONSERVATION in mind.
An interesting side note; most of the wood used on the ceilings, floors and walls has been milled from trees that have been harvested from this estate.
Fire extinguishers are under sinks, smoke detectors on both floors. First Aid kit and flashlights are over the washing machine. All remotes are attached to the right side of the TV’s.
The evening ambiance is enhanced by the solar lights over the picnic table which can be turned on via the remote located in the sunroom/mudroom entrance attached to the first window sill to the right of the door. Simply push the button!
Grocery stores, restaurants, shopping and entertainment are all within a 5-20 minute drive from the Jasmine House. Information and suggestions will be left for you upon your arrival in your welcome package. A few of the best spots include The Alabama Theatre, The House of Blues and Greg Norman’s Resturant! Many golf courses are with a couple miles as well. The town of Calabash has many wonderful Resturants and shops.
There are several beautiful beaches only a few miles away. A few you may enjoy are Sunset Beach & Ocean Isle Beach in North Carolina and North Myrtle Beach and Cherry Grove Beach in South Carolina
No pets of any kind or allowed. Service animal owners, please know that while your needs are understood, Allergies cause many health issues, while we would love to have you as guests, we kindly ask you to look for a service animal friendly place.
This is a no smoking property. Please no smoking or vaping of any kind.
Free parking is available. Please no motorcycles or RV’s are permitted on the property. There are a few homes in this quiet neighborhood, please be respectful of their privacy. There are three exterior security cameras located on the side and back of the Jasmine house. These are for your safety and well being primarily to monitor wildlife around the Jasmine house. These are not intended to monitor the guests. My goal is to make your visit a wonderful memorable experience. You are welcome to contact the host with any questions or needs may have.
